Tjitse Lupgens

Tjitse Lupgens, employed by Damen Shipyards at Special Projects Green since 2011, is responsible for the development of the Damen Ballast Water Service as Business Development & Project Manager. He has a career spanning close to 20 years in Naval Architecture, with a focus on design and development, and has worked for companies including Nevesbu, Heerema, Gusto Engineering, Jumbo Shipping and Lloyd's Register.

Before joining Damen, he worked for 10 years at Lloyd's Register as Ship Surveyor, and was involved in the last five of those years with several type approvals of BWT units and the development of Ballast Water Approvals and Surveys. Tjitse studied Mechanical Engineering at TU Twente and Naval Architecture at the Haarlem Polytechnic, graduating with a degree in Naval Architecture in 1994, and also studied public administration & management at TU Delft.
