Theodore Tsakiris

Dr. Theodoros Tsakiris is an Assistant Professor at the University of Nicosia specializing on the geopolitics and economics of hydrocarbons. As of March 2014, Dr. Tsakiris has been appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors in the Cyprus Hydrocarbon Company. He also works as an ELIAMEP Research Fellow and the Head of the Institute's Geopolitics of Energy Programme. Dr. Tsakiris is also an Associate of the South East Europe Programme at the LSE Ideas think-tank of the London School of Economics as well as a member of the Global Matters Programme of the Center for Global Politics at the Free University of Berlin. From January to June 2010 Dr. Tsakiris worked with the Office of the Deputy Minister for Energy of Greece as a special scientific advisor focusing on international oil & gas projects. In 2008-2009 he served as the Head of the Policy Making Unit at the Special Secretariat for International Energy Policy of the Hellenic Ministry of Development. He is the author of 11 monographs and over 36 book chapters and articles in English and Greek, and is a regular commentator on energy policy issues for Greek and international media.
