Terry Macalister is a journalist who began at International Freighting Weekly and then worked at Lloyd's List as industrial correspondent. He was part of the founding team of TradeWinds, later reported on business for the London Evening Standard and The Independent, and spent nearly two decades at The Guardian as Industrial Correspondent and Energy Editor.
He has written the Wavelength opinion column for TradeWinds and co-authored Crude Britannia (2020) on the oil industry.
He chaired Shipping China in 2005 and was a panellist at the 2006 edition.
