Sander J.W. Scheepens

Sander Scheepens was born in Tilburg, the Netherlands, in 1967. He obtained a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Eindhoven University of Technology in 1992, and joined the management trainee programme of ABN AMRO Bank NV, spending five years with ABN AMRO in various corporate banking positions. In 1998 he moved to NIB Capital Bank NV as Vice President in the shipping division, and over 4.5 years with NIB was responsible for the bank's clients in Scandinavia. In 2001/2002 he co-led the project team for NIB's groundbreaking shipping securitisation transaction, 'Latitude Synthetic'.

In late 2002 he joined DVB's Investment Management department, and after a short stay at DVB's shipping headquarters in Rotterdam, was sent to Singapore in March 2003 to establish DVB Investment Management in Asia. DVB Investment Management manages the NFC Shipping Funds, the leading maritime private equity funds, which have executed 45 investments in shipping worldwide, one third of them in Asia.
