Roberto Giorgi

Roberto Giorgi has been Honorary President of V.Ships and a member of the Senior Group Executive since January 1, 2014. He began his career at sea before transferring to shore-based roles in 1980, first at Amarline, a joint venture between Vlasov Group and a Saudi company, and then at V.Ships. He held various roles within V.Ships, serving as Managing Director of V.Ships New York from 1988 to 1994, before returning to Europe to launch the new brand V.Ships Leisure in the cruise sector and running V.Ships' ship management operation from its Monaco office. From 2005 until the end of 2013 he held the role of President of V.Ships.

Prior to joining the V.Ships Group, he attended the San Giorgio Nautical College in Genoa (1964-1969) and sailed from Deck Cadet to First Officer with Navigazione Alta Italia, Italian Line and Sitmar Cruises. Before joining the merchant marine, he spent a year (1970-71) at the Naval Academy of Leghorn and sailed with the Italian Navy as Lieutenant. Mr. Giorgi was President of InterManager from 2008-2010, the international trade association for third-party and in-house ship managers. Since June 2013 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Skuld P&I Club, since December 2013 a Member of the Board of Directors of Scorpio Bulk, and since March 2014 a Member of the Board of Azimut Benetti Group.
