Robert Lorenz-Meyer

Since 1993, Robert Lorenz-Meyer has been owner and Managing Partner of the Ernst Russ shipping group, founded in 1893 by his great-grandfather. He is responsible for the development of the Ernst Russ shipping network, particularly in the Far East, with offices in Beijing and Shanghai; in addition to the group's ship-owning activities, it offers a broad range of services including chartering, sale and purchase, and financial consulting.

Robert Lorenz-Meyer is the Immediate Past President of BIMCO. His association with BIMCO began in May 2001, when he was elected onto the Documentary Committee, and he has served on the BIMCO Executive Committee since 2003. He is also Vice President of the German-Finnish Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Executive Committee of the German Shipowners' Association, and Vice-Chairman of West of England P&I Club, in addition to holding various other positions across the industry.
