Rashed Al Hebsi

Rashed Al Hebsi is a graduate of the University of Miami, USA, where he earned his B.S. in Electronics Engineering. Upon graduating he received his UAE Naval Officer Commission and served in the UAE Navy for more than 22 years, beginning as a Marine Engineer Officer assigned to multiple UAE Naval vessels. He trained with the French Navy and French company DCNS for two years on the development of the combat management system for the French aircraft carrier 'Charles De Gaulle', and subsequently was Project Manager for UAE Navy Project Tarif (six naval ships) in Stockholm, Sweden with the Swedish company SAAB, and Project Manager in Rome, Italy for the Baynunah combat system development, coordinating 18 international system suppliers with the Italian company Selex over three years through the commissioning of the first UAE naval warship of its class.

He was also involved in the UAE Naval Projects for the Abu Dhabi Class and Falaj II, from contracting through project management phases in Genoa, Italy. In 2011, he was assigned Head of the Joint Committee to establish the first National Classification Society in the Arab World, where he holds the title of Chief Executive Officer for “Emirates Classification (TASNEEF)”.
