Quentin Bargate

Quentin Bargate is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bargate Murray, a specialist law firm in Mayfair, London, where he leads the Superyacht and Dispute Resolution Groups. He founded the firm, originally Quentin Bargate & Co, in 2004; it was renamed Bargate Murray in 2006. He was previously a solicitor and partner at Simmons & Simmons from 1987 to 2004, heading its International Trade and Shipping Group, and before that an assistant solicitor in shipping at Lovell White & King from 1983 to 1987.

He holds an MSc in Marine Law and Policy from Cardiff (1983) and a BA Honours in Law (1977), and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

He has spoken at 12 Mare Forum events, mainly the Mare Forum and Super Yacht Europe/Fort Lauderdale yacht summits, between 2014 and 2024, usually as moderator.
