Peter Georgiopoulos

Peter Georgiopoulos founded General Maritime Corporation in 1997 and, as at 2005, was its Chairman and Chief Executive. Earlier he was a principal of Maritime Equity Management (1991–1997), worked with the oil tanker brokerage affiliate of Mallory Jones Lynch & Associates (1990–1991), and was an investment banker at Drexel Burnham Lambert (1987–1990). He holds an MBA from Dartmouth College.

He was a panellist at Mare Forum USA 2004 and at the Nor-Shipping Forum in 2005.
