Paul Slater

Paul Slater was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First International Corporation, a ship finance advisory firm, and has led Qorval Marine, the maritime restructuring division of turnaround firm Qorval, since 2016, having also worked with Qorval between 2004 and 2010. He was known for advocating structural change in shipping restructurings, arguing that many industry efforts amount to a superficial "shuffling of the deck chairs" rather than genuine reorganisation.

He has spoken at 11 Mare Forum events, including Mare Forum USA, Mare Forum Ship Finance and the Mare Forum Fort Lauderdale Yacht Summit, between 2002 and 2016, moderating the inaugural Mare Forum Fort Lauderdale Yacht Summit in 2014 and Mare Forum Houston in 2002.
