Øystein Meland spent over three decades at Wikborg Rein in Bergen, joining as a lawyer in 1981 and becoming partner in 1985, before continuing as Of Counsel there until 2021. He holds a Cand.jur. from the University of Bergen (1977), was admitted to plead before the Norwegian Supreme Court in 2002, and is a certified mediator and international certified arbitrator. In 2021 he became a Specialist Partner at BAHR.
He spoke as a panellist at Mare Forum's Shipping China events in 2004 and 2005.
