Michiel Steeman

Michiel Steeman is Managing Partner at Zuyderzee Capital, which he joined in July 2019, working in corporate finance advisory and capital solutions for the shipping and infrastructure sectors. He spent almost 24 years at DVB Bank, latterly as Head of Shipping Finance Europe and a member of the bank's management team, managing multi-billion dollar debt portfolios and leading global syndications between 2005 and 2010 across Singapore, London and continental Europe.

He holds a Master's degree in Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam and completed a Risk Management programme at INSEAD.

He has spoken at 21 Mare Forum events between 2017 and 2026, moderating six of them, including editions of Mare Forum Ship Finance, Mare Forum Istanbul and the 1st Mare Forum Germany (2026), and is a moderator at the 25th Mare Forum Ship Finance 2026.
