Michele Francioni

Michele Francioni has a degree in Naval Architecture and a Master in Marine and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Genova. As an Officer in the Italian Navy at the Naval Academy in Livorno, he underwent training in Propulsion Systems and Installation Equipment on board Italian Navy vessels.

He joined RINA in January 1997 as an Engineer in the Structures Department, and furthered his career by taking on increasing responsibility in RINA offices around the world: from Manager in the RINA Plan Approval Centre in Korea (2000-2004), to Manager of the RINA Hong Kong and Singapore Office (2004-2005), to Area Manager for Korea and Japan (2005-2007), to RINA Asia General Manager (2007-2011). He was RINA Chief Operating Officer from March 2012 to July 2013, and is presently RINA Chief Executive Officer and a RINA IACS Council Member.
