Maurice Jansen is Senior Researcher at the Erasmus Centre for Urban, Port and Transport Economics (Erasmus UPT) at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He spent eight years as a supply chain consultant in freight forwarding and contract logistics before moving into maritime education, where he directed the MSc Shipping and Transport at the Netherlands Maritime University of Applied Sciences. He joined Erasmus UPT in 2018 and completed his PhD, on ports as a force for positive change, in January 2025.
