George Anomeritis

George (Yiorgos) Anomeritis was Greece's Minister of Mercantile Marine from 2001 to 2003. He holds an economics degree from the Athens University of Economics and Business and served as a Member of the Greek Parliament for 14 years from 1993.

His other ministerial posts included Minister of Agriculture (1998–2001), Alternate Minister of National Economy (1995–96) and Deputy Minister of Economics (1996). He has also written books and articles on economics, history and other subjects.

He gave the keynote at Mare Forum 2002 and was a panellist at Med Ports 2002 and the Shipper Forum 2002.
