Fortunato Sulfaro

Fortunato "Nello" Sulfaro graduated in Naval and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Naples and joined RINA in 1992 as a structural technician. He held roles coordinating construction surveillance for Costa Cruises and Carnival vessels, directing RINA's activities for North Eastern Europe, and heading its Fort Lauderdale office and Rina USA Ltd. He became RINA's Italy Manager in 2009, General Manager of Rina Services Italy in 2012, and Executive Vice President of Marine Operations in 2018, before serving as Chief Executive Officer of Rina Services (2018-2020) and of Rina SpA (2020-2022), and then as President of Rina Services. He died in 2024.

Sulfaro was a panellist at Mare Forum Malta (2015) and Mare Forum Italy (2011 and 2012).
