Before joining Dynamar, Dirk Visser worked for more than 35 years in the liner shipping agency and forwarding industry in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, involved in all aspects of the forwarding, breakbulk and container shipping business, from hands-on work as a junior clerk up to top management. Over the years, he has been involved in the acquisition and representation of about 75 international liner shipping companies (breakbulk, multipurpose, full container, deepsea and shortsea, including feedering), on behalf of which he travelled extensively across the world. Dirk is educated in marketing and port management, among other fields, and versatility has become a label often associated with him.
Since 1999, Dirk Visser has been overall responsible for the Publications and Consultancy sections of Dynamar B.V., serving as Managing Editor of the DynaLiners portfolio of analytical liner shipping news and commentary, and as author and editor of studies and exclusive reports on a wide variety of shipping topics, issues, markets, trades and terminals. He is also active as a Senior Shipping Consultant, involved in a multitude of projects including shipping market and trade studies and due diligence reports, and is a regular, invited speaker at international shipping conferences and workshops.
