David Reams spent around fifteen years in maritime command, holding a USCG 1600 ton/3000 ton international ticket, before moving ashore to spend seven years as Director of US Operations and Yacht Management at Camper and Nicholson Yachts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He then joined Vulcan Inc., the organisation founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, as Senior Director of Yacht Operations, overseeing the R/V Petrel, a platform for marine archaeology and exploration that located and surveyed WWII wrecks including USS Indianapolis, USS Lexington, USS Ward and USS Juneau.
He spoke as a panellist at Mare Forum's 3rd Cayman Islands Shipping Summit in 2015 and the 4th Cayman Islands Shipping Summit in 2016.
