Christoph Toepfer

Christoph Toepfer founded Borealis Maritime Limited in 2010 as an independent maritime investment and ship management firm undertaking opportunistic investments, in both debt and equity, across all shipping segments, many as part of debt restructurings in cooperation with existing lenders. Since its foundation, Borealis has purchased 12 vessels with a value in excess of US$150 million. Prior to Borealis, Christoph was Managing Director of Allocean, a UK and Singapore-based diversified shipping group that owned and managed a fleet of 60 vessels across the container, bulk, LPG, offshore and tanker segments. Before joining Allocean, Christoph ran Toepfer & Co., his own ship brokerage business in London, and previously worked with Tufton Oceanic and Dresdner Bank in corporate advisory and banking. Christoph holds a Bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, in Financial Management from Syracuse University, New York, and a Master's degree in Shipping, Trade & Finance from Cass Business School, City University London.
