Christian Garin

Christian Garin was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Marseille in July 2004. He served on the Board of Directors of CMA-CGM from 1997 to 2004, was a member of the Conseil Supérieur de la Marine Marchande from 2003 to 2004, and in 2007 became a member of the board of the Cluster Maritime Français.

Christian Garin joined the shipping finance division of Banque Indosuez in Paris in 1986, and was responsible for the shipping finance of the Caisse Nationale de Crédit Agricole in Paris from 1989 to 1997, when he moved to Marseille and became a ship-owner and founder of the Gaz Atlantique and Fouquet Sacop group, specialised in the transport of refined oil products and liquid gas. He holds a law degree and is a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies in Aix-en-Provence.
