Carlos DiMottola

Born in Rio de Janeiro in December 1974, Carlos di Mottola joined the d'Amico Group in 2003, and since June 2008 has been responsible for Business Development. From October 2010 he has also been a partner at Venice Shipping and Logistics (VSL), where he managed the acquisition of a second-hand MR1 tanker and an eco-design handybulk newbuilding.

In his Business Development role for d'Amico, Carlos evaluated several investments and was involved in the establishment of a third-party ship management company, ISHIMA Pte Ltd, and a bunker trading company, RUDDER SAM. At d'Amico, Carlos was also responsible for planning and financial control from September 2003 to June 2008; in this role he initially followed the Group's international activities, and from November 2006 focused exclusively on d'Amico International Shipping, playing a key role in the company's Initial Public Offering in May 2007. Carlos is a non-executive Director of d'Amico International S.A. and of RUDDER SAM.

Before joining d'Amico, Carlos obtained an MBA from Columbia Business School and accumulated five years of experience in investment banking at Lehman Brothers in London and New York, and at Banco Brascan in São Paulo. Carlos graduated in Economics from the London School of Economics with the highest grade.
