Bote de Vries

Since 2009, Bote de Vries has worked as an independent financial advisor for the maritime industry. Before that, he spent eight years as CEO of NFC Shipping Funds, a joint venture between DVB Bank and Northern Navigation International, during which ten shipping funds were established, acquiring assets with a value of USD 2.7 billion across various types of cargo vessels, offshore vessels and offshore equipment; over that period, the average return for investors in the various funds was equal to 30% per year.

Before joining NFC, Bote de Vries worked in various financial positions, including Head of Transportation Finance at NIBC Bank in the Netherlands. He is an experienced, creative professional in ship finance with strong structuring skills and an extensive relationship network, and is also a frequent conference speaker and university teacher on asset finance and investment-related issues.
