Basil Karatzas

Basil Karatzas was Founder and CEO of Karatzas Marine Advisors & Co., which he established in the aftermath of the 2008 financial and shipping crisis. His background spans ship brokerage (newbuildings, secondhand vessels and demolition sales), vessel and port operations, chartering and vessel management.

He holds ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation) and ASA (American Society of Appraisers) credentials, is a Certified Marine Surveyor and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, and holds an MBA.

He spoke as a Keynote speaker at the 9th Mare Forum USA in 2015 and as a panellist at five further Mare Forum and Cayman Islands Shipping Summit events between 2014 and 2017.
