Athena (Jiao) Wu

Athena (Jiao) Wu is the Managing Director of Wenz & Associates Inc., a consulting firm specialising in ship financing and traditional ship brokerage services related to China. As a native Chinese speaker, Ms. Wu understands Chinese language, culture and the business environment, and her professional expertise spans financing, newbuilding and other shipping-related business; throughout her career she has worked with many international companies to improve their business in China.

Prior to Wenz, Ms. Wu was President of Topcare International, a company advising on newbuilding deals and selling marine equipment to Chinese shipyards, and she also worked at Tyco in Shanghai, where she successfully developed the business and increased Tyco's brand awareness in the marine market. Ms. Wu holds an MBA specialising in Finance and Marketing from New York University's Stern School of Business and a BA from Xiamen University in China. She is also the Secretary General of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce America, actively participating in business communications and high-level bilateral government dialogues between the US and China.
