conference: THE NEW EUROPEAN MARITIME POLICY
Challenges and Opportunities
17 November 2005, Brussels
Renaissance Hotel
Conference papers
The New European Maritime Policy conference attempts to articulate all the views of the representative European maritime organisations as a contribution to the consultation process of the European Commission for its Green Paper on maritime policy. The views of the European maritime organisations are published on this website, well in advance of the November 17, 2005 conference. This way, everyone may become familiar with the position of each organisation which will facilitate the discussion and the diffusion of the various perspectives. Apart from the 20 European organisations that have been invited by the conference organisers, there are many more international organisations that are interested to contribute to the discussion. These organisations are invited to send in a policy paper, which will also be posted on this website. However, the papers will not be presented directly at the conference, due to time constraints. However during the discussion at the end of each session, there will be ample opportunity to express views and opinions by representatives of these organisations. Policy papers of representative organisations can be send to the e-mail addresses below. We look forward to a lively and productive conference which will contribute to a high quality Green Paper. This Green Paper should form the basis for a dynamic and pro-active European maritime policy that will further the cause of the world class European maritime interest.
