Following the overwhelming success of The New European Maritime Policy Forum held November last year http://www.mareforum.com/new_european_maritime_policy.htm

Mare Forum and the Dutch Maritime Network, together in close cooperation with the European Commission and the European Network of Maritime Clusters, are organising a logical sequel and progress report to the topic of  The New European Maritime Policy Forum - The Political Green Paper Debate.
 

The European Commission adopted in June 2006 the Green Paper on a European Maritime Policy. This Green Paper will be the subject of many debates in member states and beyond, in national parliaments and the European Parliament, within European and International maritime trade organisations and industries, and many more.

In order to kick-start the European political debate on the Green Paper, Mare Forum together with the Dutch Maritime Network, the European Network of Maritime Clusters, and in close cooperation with the European Commission, organises a second high-level conference in Brussels on Thursday 23 November 2006.

Commissioner Joe Borg and Commissioner Stavros Dimas will deliver keynote addresses.

This Forum will have three debating sessions:

Session 1:
European Parliament and Member States Parliament perspectives
The New European Maritime Policy – A shared vision for Europe?

Session 2:
European Maritime Industry perspective
Critical success factors of an integrated European Maritime Policy.

Session 3:
From Green Paper to a European Action Plan
